The 100% Model

We’ve made a bold promise: 100% of public donations go directly to funding sustainable clean water projects. To ensure this, we cover any credit card fees. For instance, if a donor contributes $100 via credit card and we receive $97 after fees, we’ll add the remaining $3 to make sure the full $100 supports clean water efforts. By keeping our clean water initiatives and operational costs entirely separate—with different purposes, fundraising targets, and bank accounts—we can confidently guarantee that every dollar donated goes directly to helping those in need. So far, over 1 million people from more than 100 countries have supported us through this model. Learn more about our 100% Model Statement.

How do we cover our operating expenses?

From the very beginning, we’ve relied on a committed group of generous private donors to cover all our operating expenses. While it can be challenging, we remain firmly dedicated to this approach. Our commitment to transparency has helped us build trust and gain the support of passionate donors, dedicated fundraisers, long-term brand partners, and loyal volunteers—everyone who, like us, believes in the transformative power of clean water.

A Revolutionary Approach to Giving

The Wotter is a community of business leaders, founders, and entrepreneurs who contribute a portion of their private equity to support our operations, while also offering a unique employee benefit. This pioneering giving program is the first of its kind to incentivize and reward nonprofit employees with equity. It’s also a crucial part of how we sustain our 100% model, ensuring that every public donation goes directly to funding clean water projects for those in need.

Brand Partnerships

Alongside The Wotter, we collaborate with a select group of companies and foundations that help cover our staff salaries and operational expenses. These partnerships involve corporate donations, percentage-based contributions from sales, and customized campaigns tailored to align with each business’s market and brand identity.

Investment Earnings

We follow industry best practices to manage our investment assets, ensuring we maximize our resources to bring clean water to as many people as possible. Funds designated for operations and donor contributions awaiting deployment are strategically invested in low-risk capital market instruments, helping to grow our assets over time.

Gifts in Kind

From technology to office furniture, we rely on the generosity of companies that donate resources to support our work. We are deeply grateful to those who contribute equipment and services, helping us operate efficiently and maintain a professional, stylish workspace.
